At Contour Clinics, we use:
- Thick filler to give plumpness and projection, and to give height
- Medium filler to soften the lip and fill out lines
- Thin filler to bring back youthfulness and hydration
Cosmetic injector Lauren is our in-house expert when it comes to all things lips.
In this video, she discusses various before and after results of lip filler treatments administered here at Contour Clinics.
Lip enhancement is performed by injecting dermal filler into the lips. Lip filler is made of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance that already occurs in the human body within the skin’s dermal layers.
The benefit of using hyaluronic acid in lip fillers is that this substance naturally attracts water to where it is placed, so this encourages hydration in the treated area.
Dermal filler adds volume to the upper and lower lips, as well as making them more soft and plump.
Lip fillers can also be used to correct asymmetry, which is a common concern, as well as improve the shape of your lips and add definition.
Lip fillers are more art than science. That’s why it is important you carefully consider not only who injects your lips, but what filler is used.
Contour clinics use only premium TGA-approved fillers.
Our expert medical professionals can enhance your lips in a number of ways:
Yes! For our practitioners here at Contour Clinics, creating natural looking and believable results is paramount.
Lip fillers should never look artificial; they should enhance your face.
When done correctly, lip fillers create a subtle, natural improvement in the volume and shape of your lips.
It’s important that practitioners know the anatomy of the lip; understanding the way the lip moves and its anatomical structure is crucial to achieving a nicely defined, plump, natural looking lip.
Our experienced aesthetic experts ensure your lips will still look like your lips — only better.
Lip fillers should never be rushed, and take the utmost care in performing this procedure to perfection, as symmetry is crucial to an aesthetically pleasing result.
On average, lip filler injections take about 20 minutes to complete.
It’s crucial that you follow the correct aftercare instructions for lip filler injectables.
Following your lip filler treatment, it’s not so much what to do, rather more about what not to do.
Avoid these things for at least 8 hours after fillers:
You can minimise the development of bruising by lightly applying a covered ice pack to the skin for no longer than 10 minutes at a time.
Avoid for at least 24 hours following your lip filler treatment:
Avoid for at least 48 hours after lip fillers:
Avoid for at least 2 weeks after your lip filler treatment:
Results are immediate; you will be able to enjoy your luscious new lips right away!
With lower quality fillers, the results can only last 3 months or less before breaking down.
At Contour Clinics we use only premium range lip fillers, so the results of our lip enhancements last between 6 and 12 months.
Top-ups are generally not required. Your lip enhancement results will last between 6-12 months.
We offer a complimentary corrective appointment directly after your lip filler treatment in the rare case of asymmetry.
Otherwise, you can expect to enjoy the beautiful results of your lip filler for at least half a year before coming back for your next full treatment.
If you decide not to continue with lip fillers, there will be no permanent change to your lips and you will not have to keep having lip fillers.
We usually see patients choosing to have repeat treatments every 6 to 9 months, as they love their new lip shape and want to maintain the effect originally achieved.
At Contour Clinics, we pride ourselves on being the cosmetic injectable experts.
Using the latest in injecting technique, lip fillers performed by our practitioners are minimally uncomfortable.
Importantly, we only use lip fillers with a built-in local anaesthetic. This combined with ice packs, numbing cream, and the option of happy gas makes lip enhancement treatments at Contour Clinics the most comfortable available.
Serious complications of lip fillers are extremely rare.
Patients may experience some swelling and uncommonly bruising post treatment. These settle within 1-3 days and are easily covered by makeup.
We encourage LED light therapy post treatment to decrease the risk of bruising.
Sometimes, we see patients who have had their lip fillers elsewhere, leaving them with an undesirable ‘overdone’ look, and they wish for them to be removed and re-done.
Here at Contour Clinics, we specialise in correcting poorly placed fillers.
